Evan's Big Boy Bed & YEAH FOR SNOW!

Evan got his Christmas present a little early, but we thought it would probably be a little hard to get all of the crib stuff out and a new bed made for him on Christmas eve night, that and we didn't want to store the mattresses.  So Evan go his BIG BOY BED this weekend.  He looked so big in his crib, but he just looks so small in a twin size bed.  But he loves it!  I tried to find something that could still (somewhat) match what his crib stuff was, so I found this cute set a target.
What a good night sleep he is having in his new bed, where he can stretch his leg and his toes.
So after our one fluck snow day last month when the snow what melting as it hit the ground, we finally got SNOW!  It just did not feel like December or even close to christmas when you only have to wear a sweater out.  It needs to be freezing to feel like Christmas.  Now that it is here I can break out the hot cocoa and really get into the holiday season.
And if you really think these two are even close to angels.........
Evan is making his SCARY face, even with frozen hands, the boy would not put on gloves.

Edward or Troy?

Call me CRAZY!  I will still pick Troy any day of the week.  I think I am more in love with the High School Musical's more than my 5 year old daughter.  I went again last week to see HSM3 and loved it even more the second time.  The part when he has the blue prom tux on, I wish I could just rewind it already.  I was telling my friend Sarah, I don't know if I would even buy Twilight when it came out, but just to see Edward a few more times I probably will, but the of course I will buy HSM3, first in line.  My husband just laughs, but I love Troy Bolton.  I really don't like referring to him by Zac Efron, he is all Troy Bolton to me.  Though Edward is very Sexy it the dark bad guy sort, Troy can move.  Call me Cheesy or what, I will pic Troy anyday, but of course would not turn Edward down.

Isn't she pretty!

Well Doggy I hope you are all worth it!  Wow I totally forgot how much I hate the Vet office.  It's just like going to the car mechanic, you never know what the bill is going to be...... 3 weeks ago I took Izzy for her check up and shots - $184.00 later.  Today I took her rights away as a woman, she is no longer able to have puppies, sorry Izzy you too much puppy for me as it is, but $412.00 later, I might have considered it.  Merry Christmas to the Gill Family, I hope Charlotte likes opening this present on Christmas morning!

Pathwords!

So I finally stopped and took a minute to update my blog.  You can partly blame my neighbor Sadie, She got me (and Matt) addicted to a game called Pathwords on facebook, now every free moment I have I am trying to beat my high score.  Nothing really exciting or interesting has been happening at the Gill house, except for little Evan is getting his back Molars, so he is been kind of a monster, and will only eat certain things.  Poor little guy, its a good thing they don't remember this stuff.

Once again, I thought I would share some of the pictures that Matt and the kids take while I am away at work.

This picture I will always treasure, this one actually looks like they like each other! (which anyone that knows my kids, they don't really like each other).

This is Evan very proud of his new Tattto, so tough!  Also gotten love that he is running around in his diaper, with his little backpack on (which is full of Hot Wheels Cars) and a messy face.

Happy Halloween!  Wow what a busy Halloween it was.  I was so cheap this year on costumes that I was determined to not spend so much on costumes for my kids that they only wear a few times, so I got on KSL.com and was able to find Charlotte and Evan costumes for only $10.  I was so excited about getting such a great deal on such cute costumes that I went ahead and found me one too.  Not only did Charlotte have a party at school that I volunteered at we had a neighborhood carnival with lots of fun activities for the kids to do (don't ask about my pinatas). Then there was Halloween it self and I also went to work at Kohl's in full costume.  We did the Trunk or Treat in our neighborhood and then attempted to go out into the neighborhood to knock on doors, but I think most people went to the Trunk or Treat and then out to dinner or something because only 1 in 4 house were there to pass out candy, don't get me wrong I like the trunk or treat but I also love going door to door, thats what I did as a kid, I wondered my neighborhood for hours getting my candy, it just doesn't seem the same anymore.  All in all it was a fun halloween!

Ten things a Mom did today

Marla posted this on her blog and just thinking of the stuff I have done today, ten lines is not enough.  It's only 1:35 pm so I'll list the ten I have so far
1. Woke up and put son back in his bed at 4:00 a.m.
2. Made Cinnamon rolls for breakfast, since I ran out of milk yesterday, couldn't do cereal
3. Read part of the paper while having some coffee (my 15 minutes of ME time)
4. changed a load of landry
5. took a shower and got ready
6. changed another load of laundry
7. got 2 kids ready for school and dropped each kid of at the appropriate school (2 different ones)
8. went and picked up my nephews eye exam, because without it they wouldn't have let him start school today
9. went to the grocery store and bought milk, etc.
10. went to the elementary school to sign forms to get her out of WX Elem.

and my day is only half over!

So this is what I feel like today!

a day at the zoo

So I made it through the week from HELL, while my husband was in San Diego.  We decided to take Evan to his first trip to the ZOO.  He did really good, he liked the Monkeys and the big apes.  It was feeding time when we got there. so most of the animals were up and about waiting for food.  The tiger paced back and forth in front of the window, like we were her brunch.  All in all it was a good day and the Bird Show was excellent!

Let's try that again!

So after 2 whole days of school and Charlotte NOT getting off the school bus on Tuesday, I got a call from Wasatch Peak Academy (a charter school) saying she had gotten a lottery spot.  So on Wednesday she had to go in for a 2nd round of testing and would be starting her charter school the very next day.  Did I mention that this new school requires uniforms, so I had to take her to get her testing done and go shopping for (more) new school clothes, with all 4 kids (Char, Evan, Bas and Lexus).  What a day!  What a WEEK!  To top it all off, my husband was out of town ALL week.  And I had to work!  So here are some pictures of Charlotte for her 2nd - 1st day of school.

Charlotte made through her 1st day of Kindergarten

Charlotte made it!  Her 1st day of Kindergarten.  She didn't want me to take her to school, she didn't want me to pick her up from school, she just wanted to ride the bus,  I guess I can't blame her.  I really didn't think I would cry, but I did, that bus pulled up to take her away and there I was crying, but Charlotte reassured me that "it would be okay" and that she "was going to have fun".  Then it got even worse as I was walking back to my house with just me & Evan.  Man I have I been spoiled (or damned) to have 4 kids in my house this whole summer.  What am I going to do next year when she is gone all day and it really will be just me & Evan all day?
Charlotte got home from school and gave me the typical answer of what she did at school - "I don't know, I don't remember", but then she started to tell me funny little things that happened, 2 kids got hurt at PE and one kid got lost.  She said she had fun and is even willing to go back again tomorrow.  I can't believe she is going to school, I just can't believe she is old enough.

Puppy named

So finally our little puppy "girl" has been named.  Her name is IZZY.  My friend Sarah gave me the idea to look at the Obituaries for old lady names.  So the next day I thought I would look and the first one I saw was a lady named Izola and thought that was a weird name and thought of Izzy.  I then thought of Winney too, so I let Charlotte choose between the two and she choose Izzy.  So there we go thats her name and Matt really didn't complain.  She has been a pretty good puppy so far, when she wakes up from sleeping she really like to rough house, which includes bitting.  The potty training is going so so, we just take her out every so often and she always goes, but if we forget she is in the house she just goes where she is.  She'll get it soon enough or she'll learn to live outside.

Evan Turned 2!

So my little boy has grown up!  He turned 2 on July 25th.  What a birthday, he got to go to the bountiful handcart days parade and carnival (twice), he got to do presents & cupcakes with his favorite people (family) and also go swimming (his new favorite activity).  I can't believe he is already 2, that means I quit my job 2 years ago.  He is such a funny little man, he love everything his dad does, his favorite music is AC/DC, Queen (we will rock you), IRON MAN, etc. he just loves music and really gets into his dancing, he's got some good moves too.  Everything that comes out of his mouth is just hilarious.  He sat and had a whole conversation with his doctor on Monday about his birthday, what he got and about pirates.  He is so smart, he already know all of his colors and can kind of count (he doesn't like the number 1 though).  He may be the hardest kid, but the good definitely out ways the bad.  I love you Bubbah.

The new addition!

Meet the newest addition to the family!
She is a 6 week old, female boxer. We have yet to think of a name for her, my husband has just been calling her two or "shorty two" since she is a boxer just like our dog boxer that died 2 years ago, I have been calling her shorty girl (because shorty was a boy and she is not).  Charlotte just keeps looking at things around the house and saying thats what we should name her like - pillow or chair.  Well think of something I'm sure.  She sure is cute and little, I think she is going to be great and we already love her very much.

We finally got off work and out of the house and went camping.  We took a little day trip up Farmington canyon and put of the tent and roasted some mashmallows.
We stopped by a small lake and let the kids throw rocks and walk the trails.  When we pulled up to the lake there was a giant moose just standing in it, but dumb me left the camera in the back of the car.  I tried so slowly and quietly to get it out, but as soon as I opened the back of the car the moose went on his way.

This is a picture of my cute niece, Lexus, and my daughter Charlotte.  And yes they are really cute.  There is this funny function on our mac called photo booth that lets them make their faces funny, kind of like circus mirrors.  I have a really cute one of my niece daughter and nephew but my sister won't allow me to include him in any of the photos, but this one was good too.

My boy got a hair cut!  I took him to cookie cutters where they have cars to sit in and you can watch a movie or play video games, he was not having any of it.  I had to hold him down and let him scream while the nice girl cut his hair.  I would have liked to have video of it but my hands were a little full.  I got to keep a chunk of hair and this one picture to remember by.
This is my HUSBAND (not one of the kids).  Since I work some nights at Kohl's, this is what he and the kids do for fun.  Who would have guessed someone would marry him<-.
